I am blessed to have had the company of a good friend this week, arriving for the holidays, she has taken over my kitchen. I have duly decided that every artist needs a "Loretta". I feel privileged to be enjoying my crazy Italian friend's passion for cooking. Enjoying her conversations with my chef son. Wondering what she will concoct next from the vegetable garden. Even better I have been free from the usual family and house hold stuff that drags away from my creativity..... and thus every artist needs a "Loretta", I wish I could keep her longer. (P.S. She is also an artist so I will endeavor for her to play too) #margaretriverregionopenstudios #MRROS #
And so it begins..... Committing to be in the studio for the duration. Excitement, trepidation. Expectation.
If nothing else it is a great reason to commit ones self to creativity for a significant block of time. How easily everything else gets in the way. My challenge (and it is always good to create purpose) this year is to sustain production of 2.7m lengths of hand painted fabrics. Exploring the potential of creating a new design for wearable items. Also challenging myself to get up to speed with social media and posting. Here goes. |
